Bucharest Energy Forum 2015

The Bucharest Energy Forum 2015 is the third edition of the Bucharest Forum Energy, a large-scale event designed to support a trans-regional, strategy and policy review platform, as part of the Bucharest Forum series developed by AIR.

The Aspen Institute in Romania in collaboration with Reviro offers 10 invitations to the Bucharest Forum 2015, organized between June 25-26 at the Diplomatic Club in Bucharest.

Bucharest Forum Energy will take place over two days and will be a mix of plenary sessions and round table format conversations. Discussions will cover a wide range of topics spanning from the future of the European energy security strategy, management and production optimization of energy resources, challenges and impact in the Black Sea region to gas markets in the Black Sea region and the role of infrastructure development, technology and research and new energy sources. The aim is to have a regional conversation that includes EU, US but also Customs Union perspectives on development and investment in this sector.

With major ongoing investment projects on the production and transport side, the region is witnessing an energy revolution as well as a set of major challenges such as increasing inter-connectivity of gas and electricity grids across the region and improving security of supply.

This includes new sources in the form of offshore exploration and extraction of natural gas in the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean, new-fossil technologies including shale gas, mine gas and tight oil, renewable and green energy but also major investments in energy efficiency as well as energy transport. Several trans-regional corridors are under development or consideration and their compound impact will radically change the region’s energy future.
