International Sales Executive
This is a key role within the Coventry University Europe, Russia and Central Asia sales team and is a location independent role, based in Romania. The post-holder will be responsible for implementing marketing and sales strategy in Romania.

The key purpose of this role is to recruit students from the region, maintaining a high level of service to University applicants, recruitment agents, Coventry University staff and business partners. The International Sales Executive, will undertake the development of a wide and robust recruitment network of education agents and recruitment partners in order to generate sales leads and student applications, in addition to application conversion activity, to support the achievement of the business objectives of the wider region.

The post-holder is required to work from home and to travel to represent the University autonomously on a regular basis.


Main duties and responsibilities:


Under the guidance of the Regional Manager and Europe, Russia and Central Asia team your duties will be:


  • To undertake recruitment missions, managing exhibitions, visiting agents, schools, colleges and career conventions appropriate to student recruitment.
  • To develop and maintain an extensive agent and recruitment network to assist with student recruitment.
  • Responsibility for contribution to total recruitment targets and responsibility for supporting the wider regional target.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing strategies in designated region.
  • To develop and extend links with educational institutions abroad and other organisations appropriate to student recruitment.
  • To liaise closely with academic staff within the University who are going abroad on recruitment missions to ensure they have as much detailed information as possible, and to ensure coverage at key recruitment events specified in the Market Plan.
  • Provide regular reports on regional agent performance in the designated region to the Regional Manager and Europe, Russia and Central Asia team.
  • To provide support to Admissions and advisory teams within the International Office.
  • To develop business plans for countries of the responsibility area based on market opportunity and return on investment to achieve our regional targets.
  • Contribute to the development of the business plans of the International Office as a whole and help Faculty staff to develop their recruitment plans for countries for which you have responsibility.
  • To undertake detailed investigations of potential student markets, providing written reports and recommendations as necessary and updating the Market Plan as appropriate.
  • To ensure a comprehensive information database about the markets is available to the University.
  • To develop and extend relationships with High Commissions /Embassies /Overseas offices such as the British Council on a planned basis.
  • To develop and undertake a rolling programme on inward missions and other promotional initiatives within the University evaluating at all times the effectiveness of such initiatives.
  • To ensure that all promotional and publicity literature appertaining to student recruitment in the area of responsibility is as comprehensive and up to date as possible.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Excellent language skills in English and at least one other modern Language.
  • Marketing or Sales qualification.

Experience (Paid and Unpaid):

  • Experience in Marketing and/or the Higher Education area.
  • Knowledge of both UK and other Higher Education systems.
  • Experience in recruitment of International students.
  • Experience of working with different cultures.
  • Experience in International education marketing.
  • Experience of managing events.

Job related skills/Aptitudes:

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of database management.

Other Requirements:

  • Commitment to extensive regional and overseas travel. This will include frequent weekend working.
  • Prepared to work flexible hours at busy periods.
